LABOR MARKET POLICY IN GEORGIA: EXISTING CHALLENGES AND FUTURE TASKS

Summary 

Article is devoted to the problems of formation labor market policy in Georgia. Critically analyses measures conducted by the government of Georgia towards the job placement and social protection of the unemployed persons. Analyses main deficiencies of the active and passive labor market policies integrated with family assistance social protection programs of vulnerable groups of population. Evaluates the positive and negative sides of the measures conducted by the Government of the country toward the creation of the temporary unqualified public work places and subsidized by the Governments labor remuneration programs. The only possibility of the orientation such kind programs for the short run periods are substantiated. Augured priority of the elaborating medium and long run programs for the future periods and action plans are recommended, which assumes interrelation active and passive labor market policies with strategic directions of the development of the innovative economy in the country. Active and passive labor market policies should be interrelated towards the balancing both of the policy directions and labor market instruments and must be oriented towards the realization individual constitutional rights of unemployed persons in order to ensure the development of the equal opportunities for the access to the such programs.
